This week I'm at SAND. I thought we were meeting on Monday, but nobody turned up.
Anyway. unless we're going to meet at SAND I won't be coming to fade this week.
We're going to have to take any posts like this off. If Dave etc look at the blog it'll look like we aren't communicating with eachother. Well, in this case, we arent.

Blood. Blood, Glorious Blood
Hi.
Firstly, I'm having big problems with the characters. Realised something, I can't make them. I don't think I have that sort of brain.
So, a question. Would anyone be willing to model the characters for me?
Even with the designs I'm having problems. I keep going back to it but I don't get anywhere.
If someone models the characters (jigsaw & ghost face) I'll be fine from then on with the animating and rigging. And if you want, as you modelled the character, if you want I'll animate yours. That's up to you.
I can't really do much with jigsaw's bike cos of the proportions of the character.
In the meantime I'm making plans for an interactive DVD.
Nearly all of the features of a normal DVD movie can be done with my software.
Also making a design for a game, if that's possible (we have time). The idea I've had is a kind of, um.... matching cards game.
You know the game where you turn a card, then turn another. If you get the wrong card they both turn back. If you get it right, they stay turned.
When the card turns there is a knife slash sound. If its wrong there is a scream, if right a manic laugh.
I won't be able to make the game but someone can probably do it in flash, or whatever you use. I can design it.
I may; may, be able to put it on the DVD, but i don't know but it can be put on the website.
If we get very carried away, and if it's possible we can do a time limit thingy. If a person gets all the card turned over by a set time they gain a free entry to the horror festival.
BLOOD!!!!!!
Been working on blood simulations. Have put one below.
I've asked Richy and I'm probably going to do some dripping or running blood for the website.
By the way, Richy won't be coming in tomorrow cos he isn't well. Not sure if he's coming in Wednesday.
I, and all the group want to wish Richy a speedy recovery!!!! Aren't we a good, pleasant group!!
Um, probably more to say but don't know what.

Todays meeting
Yet another posting from me. We have 1024mb of space for the blog. I'm probably going to fill it up in a week.
Characters in the animation will be:
Jigsaw, Freddy, Jason, Ghost Face, Pin Head, Little old granny, 1st contestant & 2nd contestant.
Tasks for members:
Me: Jigsaw & Ghost Face
Adam: Freddy & Room
Chow: Jason
Rhys: Pinhead & gran
David: 1st contestant
Matt: 2nd contestant & Texturing
Tom: Character designs (reference images), Storyboard update & new animatic
Richy: Website & all that multimedia stuff
If this is a problem with people we need to talk about it!!
Probably an idea to take screenshots of your character modelling stages. When your characters are "completely modelled" put stage by stage images in a new post.
Texturing:
Certain models such as Jigsaw & Ghost Face don't need much texturing (UV mapping etc).
If people doing more than others aren't confident with texturing characters maybe pass the model onto Matt (or Chow or David; not sure if you guys are ok with texturing characters).
Rigging & Animating:
Obviously, we can't rig or animate until we have models. When the time comes we'll talk about who will be rigging & animating what. We may choose to stick with the characters we've modelled. But someone doing two models will need to pass one on to Tom for him to rig and animate.
Rendering:
We can't really test with cel shaded rendering until the characters are done. May look better not cel shaded. We want a toony look but it might look better not with a toon render. Don't worry about shadows (if anyone is). With the right setup (shadows etc); shite characters look amazing.
Joke:
Why can't men make pancakes?
Cos they're useless tossers!!
Ok, firstly, characters.

I have made folders for each character which include reference images. People who want these images for their characer, let me know.
It does seem like people have more work than others. Matt, Chow & David have one character, the rest have two.If this is a problem with people we need to talk about it!!

Importing Images
Firstly, you can now enlarge the gantt chart by clicking on it.
When I've been importing images; the part where you find the file you are asked to choose a layout (none, centre, left & right) select "None".
I've been selecting centre. Doing this doesn't let you enlarge the image when clicking on it.
So, select "None" and then centre it with the "Align Centre" button.
Also, emails, again!!!! We need to finally agree on 1 email address to send emails to. I now have 3 (primary, hotmail & google) and it's already driving me mad.
Hotmail I use for MSN & google for the blog.
From now on I'm going to send emails to the email addresses I've had from the start. If you want them sent to a new one instead, tell people.
Also, use "Red" text for important posts.

Extra Stuff
Here's the pamphlet video. Videos may take an hour to actually work.
WHEN IMPORTING IMAGES DON'T RESIZE THEM BECAUSE NOT ONLY ISN'T THE ASPECT RATIO KEPT BUT ALSO THE IMAGE IS CUT. MAY BE RESOLVED IF I CHANGE THE TYPE OF BLOG.

To Start
Hi all.
Just a test post to see if everything is up and running.
Can you go into your googlemail account and accept the invitation for http://www.screeemfest.blogspot.com/ ?
Let me know when you do and I'll give you admin privileges.
Just adding a few images and a video or two to see if it all works. They may be too small, but we'll see. They are on medium setting.
